Q. Do you provide all website design and hosting services?
Yes - I can design your website, register your domain names and provide your web hosting for you. Everything you need to get online.
Q. Can I get e-mail address with my website?
Yes, you can setup email accounts from within your domain control panel. The number of email accounts will depend on the hosting package you choose. Initially though it will be an unlimited number of accounts. You can setup any address, such as sales@your-domain.com, or John@your-domain.com.
Emails can be accessed by any POP3 application, such as Microsoft Outlook or online via our webmail service. Email services such as Auto forwarding, selective email forwarding, auto responders and Junk mail filters are all provided as standard.
Q. How long will the website design take?
After you have provided details on the design and passed over any associated images and logos, I aim to have a working design for you to view within 5 working days.
Q. I want some extra functionality on my website. Will the be included in the standard packages?
Unfortunately no, any additional programming that may be required will have to be charged at an additional cost.
Q. Will we need to have a meeting about the website design?
No, most websites are designed from email and the occasional telephone conversation. It is simply not economically viable to have face to face meetings.
Q. What format should I supply the text and graphics for the website?
All text should be provided in electronic format, such as Microsoft Word or similar. If this is not possible then I can provide a data entry service. Photographs should ideally be in JPG format, but I can convert any format or scan in paper photographs, brochures or certificates if required.
Q. Are there any hidden costs I should know about?
Website designs include everything for 12 months. After this time, hosting fees and depending on the hosting package you select, Domain re-registration fees may also be applicable.
Q. Can I see the number of visitors to the website?
Yes, with each hosting package I provide two Free visitor statistics trackers which allow you to see where your visitors are coming from, which pages they looked at, which search engines are being used, which phrases are being searched for and many more useful web tracking facts.
Q. Can you add extra pages once the design is completed?
Yes, I will happily make any changes to your website once it is completed. Though extensive work may be charged on an hourly basis.
Q. Can I update the website content myself?
Yes, certain elements can be updated yourself using our optional Content Management System (which is provided free for the first 12 months). This allows you to change the text and images within the main body of the website yourself.
Q. Do you provide training on the Content Management System?
Training is not usually required. The Content Management System is similar to a simple word processor and is very easy to use. I will provide a simple step by step guide on how to use the system. However if you have any problems I am always here to help.
Q. Can I host the website myself?
Yes you can. If you wish to host the website yourself, I can provide it on CD for you, or alternatively you can provide me with the login details in order for me to upload the website to your host. Please bear in mind that the Content Management System is tied to my hosting server, therefore it will not be available if you host the website yourself.
Q. Will my website appear in the search engines?
All the websites I produce are search engine friendly and are created with the current search engine guidelines in mind, though I do not guarantee a high placing for your website. It is a good idea for your website to be re-evaluated over time as the search engines regularly alter their rules and algorithms which could affect your position. You will want to ensure that your website is kept up to date and complies with any updated rules etc.
Q. Do you provide Search Engine Optimisation?
Yes, I can provide full Search Engine Optimisation and submission services upon request, though extra charges will apply.
Q. Do you create complete Dynamic Flash websites?
No, all the sites are HTML based, though I can produce flash animation banners if required.
Q. I already have a website, can you help me?
Yes, I can take your existing website and make any changes or completely redesign it if you wish.
